Death to Traitors

Summary:

Widespread domestic efforts to sabotage our war effort must be recognized for exactly what they are: treason. The people who engage in this behavior must be identified for exactly what they are: traitors. The legal system must punish them with a severity befitting the crime committed: death. This is an issue of national survival.

Death to Traitors

By Jim Simpson

The time has come, indeed it is long overdue, for us to admit to ourselves and openly acknowledge that there is a large-scale fifth column operating within this country dedicated to destroying our morale, our institutions and finally, our very lives.

The latest revelation by the New York Times of our government’s top-secret efforts to trace international terrorist finances is merely the latest proof. There are innumerable other examples: the Times leak of the NSA wiretapping program, the nationwide media campaign to undermine our war effort, including the “there were no WMD” lie, the relentless obsession with Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo, the refusal to report the daily acts of heroic bravery by our troops and their Iraqi allies, and the preoccupation with every single allegation of military impropriety, even when it comes from the terrorists themselves, while willfully ignoring exculpatory evidence and the steadfast refusal to report the many successes of this campaign.

If one or two of these stories were examined in isolation, one might be tempted to write them off as just a newspaper “out to sell copy” or a journalist “plugging for a Pulitzer”, but taken together, they represent irrefutable evidence of a nationwide media campaign to undermine the war effort by manipulating public opinion against it and directly sabotaging it where possible.

Following in lockstep are the institutions of the legal left, the ACLU, the National Lawyers Guild and countless others, who initiate legal actions against the government based on these media stories—whether true or not. Since 9-11, they have also aided and abetted U.S.-based terrorists and their supporters when they run afoul of US law. The subversive goals of these organizations can no longer be ignored. They are literally in collusion with terrorists!

Next, we have the politicians, whose self-serving and seditious behavior has reached unprecedented lows. Because good press is the surest avenue to political victory, the vast majority of Democrats and too many Republicans, bow obsequiously to the media’s overwhelmingly leftist message. It is irrelevant whether the message is factual or even logical. Those few brave souls with the intellectual firepower to challenge that message are hounded into obscurity, smeared into irrelevance, or simply ignored.

But there are also politicians who are genuine traitors. Because of the access provided by our form of government and the potential power an elective slot conveys, such positions have long been the target of both hostile foreign governments and homegrown conspiracies. Make no mistake about it: they have succeeded.

These people are wreaking untold havoc. They are aided and abetted by a cowardly political class, knowledgeable of their presence but unwilling to fight the bruising battles their exposure would engender, and a law enforcement community, which, without the necessary political support, is rendered utterly powerless.

Finally, they are defended passively by widespread ignorance and apathy of the public at large, a condition fed and nurtured by a national media largely sympathetic to the traitors’ goals, if not the traitors themselves.

Then there is the federal bureaucracy. This last element does not receive the attention it merits. The Democrats maintained a virtually unbroken monopoly of power in both houses of Congress from the early 1930s to the mid-1990s. Even for those few years they’ve been out of power, Democrat minorities have been only a few votes shy of majority, and their well-connected, experienced staff infrastructure on Capitol Hill has remained largely intact.

Given perennial Democrat control over the government’s purse strings, the bureaucracy evolved a staff and policy orientation sympathetic to Democrats. Furthermore, leftists have naturally gravitated toward government employment, because it both complements their belief systems and provides job security.

Consequently, the vast majority of federal bureaucrats are left-wing democrats who tolerate Republicans at best, resentfully enduring their purgatory until the Dems again take charge. But many can’t wait, and actively participate in ideological warfare against Republican administrations.

Thus we have the leakers, who have not only seeded the media with misleading and false stories, but exposed crucial classified programs.

All of it is illegal. Their reasoning and justifications are irrelevant; US law is unambiguous. Title 18 of the US Code, Section 2381, reads:

Treason. Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Is there any doubt that these activities give “aid and comfort” to our enemies? Another law, a bit less austere, but directed specifically toward the kind of crimes the New York Times has been committing, makes their violations crystal clear. Title 18, Section 798 reads, in part:

Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates, furnishes, transmits, or otherwise makes available to an unauthorized person, or publishes, or uses in any manner prejudicial to the safety or interest of the United States or for the benefit of any foreign government to the detriment of the United States any classified information . . . concerning the communication intelligence activities of the United States . . . shall be fined not more than $10,000 or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

I only wish the latter statute carried the death penalty, because that is what these scum deserve.

It is time to get some backbone, and I would start with Times editor, William Keller. Given the recent horrifying torture/murders of two U.S. soldiers by the terrorists he is abetting, drawing and quartering seems fitting retribution, but I would settle for a guilty verdict and death by firing squad. Or maybe we let Keller get away with 10 years if he gives up the scumbag who leaked the program in the first place.

Keller in jail and the bureaucrat on the gallows would serve as a stern object lesson and bring this traitorous activity to a screeching halt. For despite their smug, arrogant attitudes, most leftists are merely self-absorbed, inveterate cowards. Mr. Keller wouldn’t give up a latté for this country, and leftist bureaucrats would be helpless without their government jobs. It’s time to put them in their place.

Death to traitors!
